What a fabulous setting. We had a lovely Sunday lunch followed by a walk around the gardens which are a haven for bees and butterfly's. I'd thoroughly recommend it. We'll definitely be back and, who knows, we might even stay the night

Lovely underrated hotel with fantastic friendly staff. Grounds were lovely, very farm to table vibe, the best you can get if you like this “type” of place: private, high end, thoughtful and rural. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was lovely, zero corners cut by management, very high quality excellent design/materials/ingredients in everything. The cottage is kind of like a custom designed tiny home, very spacious for 2 people. Internet is fast, they do room service (though you should dine in the restaurant), staff is very accommodating.

We loved this excellent old style country house hotel. We were in a turret room in the main hotel building - which was lovely. The public areas around reception are very welcoming, and the gardens and grounds were great for a stroll (even in November). The bar area was ideal for a cosy drink, and for less formal dining. Breakfast was also great (the omelette Arnold Bennet a particular highlight). Finally the staff were universally friendly and efficient. A couple of things are worth noting however which could be an issue for some. 1) The main restaurant isn't open Mondays or Tuesdays at this time of year, so there's a more restricted menu in the evening 2) The hotel is a mile or two out of the centre of St Andrews, without a continuous footpath connection (or immediate bus access). That means that it's a lovely oasis of peace, but you might need to use a car, or call a taxi, to get into town - especially if the weather is inclement. Highly recommended nonetheless

We held our golden wedding anniversary tea yesterday. The setting was wonderful and the staff’s attention to everyone’s needs was exemplary. The tea itself was well up to the usual standard and a memorable day was had by everyone attending. A very big thank you to to the whole staff

We’ve just enjoyed our second stay here. The staff are outstanding and that’s quite rare in Scotland these days, unfortunately. We stayed with our 3 year old and the staff were excellent with him and he/we loved our stay, the food, our walks round the garden and the location is great too. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.

Really lovely country house hotel with amazing gardens. Room was spacious, warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. The bar has a good selection of beers and an amazing selection of whisky on offer. The bar menu was good, although only a single vegetarian option, but I'll forgive that as what was on offer was very tasty. Breakfast was another level. Porridge, obviously, but you could order it with a variety of toppings, including Drambuie! I also had the poached eggs with wilted spinach on muffin which was wonderful. Service throughout my stay was on point! Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area!
